Volunteer
Crisis Volunteers answer texts from people in crisis, bringing them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning. We ask our Crisis Volunteers to commit to between 2-4 hours per week and complete a total of 200 hours. Though, of course, we hope they stay longer. It's a big commitment, and one that people find incredibly rewarding.
Learn skills. In 25 hours, you’ll walk away knowing reflective listening, collaborative problem solving, and crisis management. (These are skills that will help in your personal relationships too!)
Train from anywhere. In your PJs. In a coffee shop. Wherever.
Be impressive! Our Crisis Volunteers highlight the training on their CVs when interviewing for jobs, applying to university, and building their LinkedIn profiles.
Level up. Earn volunteer leadership positions. Get the first look at internships and job openings. Gain access to special privileges, including discounts and merch.
Hone your skills. Work alongside volunteers who are also social workers, therapists, and psychiatrists to sharpen your crisis support skills!
Feel supported. This is a community. We support each other. We are a big awesome family.
